Some news, via Adam at
The Wertzone, that
Scott Lynch's highly anticipated
The Republic of Thieves is on the way in 2011. Here's what Adam had to say:
I have heard back from Gollancz that they are planning to publish The Republic of Thieves in Spring 2011 at the same time as the US edition of the book. They confirm the book has been delivered and is now being revised and edited to this end.
Now, this is not a series that I've started, but the more I hear about it the more tempted I am. I purchased the first book in the series, The Lies of Locke Lamora, last year and since then it's sat on my to-read shelf. Is it a series I should read?

The Lies of Locke Lamora was fantastic, it reopened the door into fantasy again for me (I hadn't read any fantasy since I was a teenager).
Spring 2011 is still a year away. Does it really take that long to edit? I thought 6-months was the typical wait from manuscript submission to publish.
Most definitely. If you liked The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, then you will like the Locke Lamora books. They are a WHOLE bunch of fun.
I don't lmow which one I like better, Lies of Locke Lamora or Red Seas, Red Skies
They are probably both a 9/10 on your scale.
