This past weekend Eastercon, the yearly Sci-Fi and Fantasy convention in the UK, was held in Heathrow. During the weekend it was announced that Illustrious 2011, to be held in Birmingham, has won the bid for next year. Guests of Honour will be David Weber, Peter F Hamilton, David A Hardy and Vince Docherty. I missed out going this year due to finance constraints and the distance involved, but after having such a great time last year I'll definitely be attending the next one.
Some bits of information about Peter F Hamilton's next novels are up on their site: Manhattan In Reverse is the provisional title for his short story collection containing two new short stories to accompany his other published ones, is due out next year. His next novel, Great North Road (set in 2140 and which could be described as a monster in the dark story) will be out in 2012.
