Manhattan In Reverse, due this year
New Covers for the Greg Mandel Books
I received these new covers via email from Peter this morning, and boy do I like them!
Manhattan in Reverse is his new short story collection due later this year (date TBC) and, as with all these covers, it's done by Steve Stone. I quite like it - it's nice and bright and conveys the sci-fi element without being too in-your-face.
The Greg Mandel books have also had the recover treatment, and while not quite what I imagine from reading the books, they're certainly very nice and a completely different direction compared to the older ones.
These aren't the first covers done by Steve Stone for Peter's novels - he took over the reigns to do the last book in the Void trilogy, The Evolutionary Void, in a similar style to the previous ones and also supplied the artwork for Pandora's Star and Judas Unchained which, while nice, I wasn't too impressed with - they just didn't suit the content of the novels.
I'm now just hoping that when (if) the rest of Peter's back catalogue gets the same treatment they don't all follow the same style of sci-fi cityscapes - there can be too much of a good thing.
